If you are visiting Troon you have to book at Piersland House Hotel. The hotel looks like it´s renovated and the guest rooms are pretty nice. And the nice ambience helped us disconnect, it was very nice.

Stayed for 5 nights with my wife. Beds were being comfy and the room was always clean up. The employees were extremely helpful and welcoming and always made us feel good. Rooms are big plus the closet. Bathroom was also very clean plus the shower was wonderful. Not an incredibly social hotel however, maybe it was like this during our stay.
